Brick In My Heart

So yea this is my 1st entry for the month of july, not that it's of any importance to note. hah.
Story of the day is when i was cleaning the closet my Ma came in and shows her new symbol of authority; the rotan a.k.a the cane.(which she just bought) and kid bro startled with fright at the sight of it.(yes, it does send shivers down his spine) psst. mine too.

From our(the children) point of view, when we see the rotan in Ma's hand its like the bitter end, the killing sword, the whip and she the deliverer of pain. But what's interesting is that from Ma's point of view. Its a nolstagic reminder of her days of rule, when we were the kids who came home dirrty and muddy from catching spiders or tadpoles. Which is enough wrong to be caned but today when we are all teenagers and young adults, all that's left is none of her strong veto power and simply the fact that most of what she says will fall on deaf ears. So purchasing the rotan is the closest thing Ma can get to her glory days. The time where we(the ungrateful kids) will suddenly be good little boys and girls at the threat.

Ma, i want you to know i love you and pls pls pls keep me safe from harm. No matter what ever happens, i'll be your little naughty boy who secretly respect and honour you. Knowing you bought the cane as reminder of your strong rule has put a heavy feeling in my heart.
(because i realised how much you miss us obeying your orders without questions)

P/s: I'm Sorry, mama.
